How to Manage Products in the Era of AI
The bottleneck in product management has moved from producing output to preserving clarity, context, and decision quality.
The bottleneck moved
AI makes output cheap. Code, PRDs, notes, summaries, and design variants can be produced quickly. That does not automatically make the product better.
The new bottleneck is clarity.
Teams need to know what they believe, what they decided, why they decided it, what evidence shaped the call, and what changed since the last time an AI agent touched the product.
PMs become context operators
In the era of AI, the PM role shifts from writing documents to operating context. A PM has to make sure the right product memory reaches the right human or agent at the right time.
That means decisions should be structured. Hypotheses should be tracked. Customer signals should be linked to the work they influenced. Artifacts should update when the product truth changes.
AI agents are powerful but context-hungry
An agent can execute. It can inspect files, write code, test changes, and produce drafts. What it cannot do reliably is infer the invisible product reasoning behind a task.
If the agent does not know the user, the constraint, the trade-off, or the prior rejected path, it may still write good code. It may just be good code for the wrong product.
The product brain is the operating system
Notiky is built around this idea: product management needs a product brain. The workspace captures the reasoning behind work, then turns that reasoning into context packs for Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and teammates.
This is how AI-native teams stay coherent. They do not rely on a founder's memory or a giant prompt. They build a system where product context compounds.
The rule
Do not ask AI to ship product from vibes. Give it the product brain.
